WINTER disaster
Finally, I have wonderful weather in Belgium, no rain at all :).
I was waiting so long for that day but something is wrong, I feel it very well. Snow is everywhere but people here are afraid of touching it. Nobody is even trying to get rid of snow from pavement or stairs. Maybe snow here is radioactive, I don't know. Few facts:
- temperature -4'C
- thickness of snow layer 4cm
- average speed of cars in front of my hotel 20km/h
- average length of traffic jams @!$%#$@435! measurement impossible :)
Pictures below show some of the places 'touched' by cataclysm. First picture is just a parking in front of the company, normally full of cars............ today is threatening with silence.
I will check if SAP crew was able to plough through this horrible cover of white substance.
BTW. Yesterday in the hotel I met old lady from Bukarest who couldn't configure internet connection. She told me that her son is working in Zurich, as a SAP specialist !!!! AAAAA It seems that somebody put a SAP curse on me.

BAC - Best Acronym Context !!!
I am using this acronym ( SAP ) so often that I need to finally know: "What do SAP letters mean ?"
I checked few of possible explanations but remeber, it's neither 'San Antonio Police' nor 'Save All Paper' (recycling slogan, but whows for suer what stands behind this company, some companies pretend to make doors and save energy but on the other hand they do logistic projects (sic!) ).
Usage of www.acronymfinder.com is forbidden !!
Please write your suggestions in comments, decision will be made soon :)

Where internet connection speed is important
Believe or not. SAP can do inserts to database which is not SAP, so flexible ! Speed of uplaoding data in incredible 2kB/s, so in our case 25 rows per second. Again calculations are necessary. assuming that every day we have to get even 620 000 records it might be that night will be too short for that ( you need 7 hours for that ) especially during the summer :).
SAP - that's where speed sleeps, will it wake up one day ?

Sorting speed is our goal
It seems you can build everything with MIGHTY SAP. It can be even set of sorting stations working together in order to choose best target for every product we are handling. It should be like 9000 picks per one shift ( of course you can use few stations for that ). But it's 30 picks per hour so to do 9000 you need only 40 stations :).
Old dispatchTool does about 180 picks per hour, depends on operator of course, there are some lazy ones and sorting leaders as well. but it's old, it is almost 2 years old. Who is using soooo old systems !
SAP - that's where power sleeps, will it wake up one day ?
